HEy Joel, you sound frustrates. BUT…you were the one trying to explain the scenario????
If they did or didn’t “get the picture” that is on you not getting the idea that another person can’t really ever get the full picture even if you explained it . Even if you go into Great detail they not get it. It will always be that way. Even if the person was there with you in the event it will always be interpreted through their own experience(s).

I believe the source of the writing is only carrying out the activity for entertainment (and possibly sports-gambling) purposes, but nonetheless, you have still arrived at a genuine truth - that all understanding is filtered through individual experience. And language and intention can get wonderfully tangled.
